What am I missing without Strava Premium?
I've been a long time user of Strava but have never subscribed. Do people actually think it's worth it?

I let my subscription lapse for a few months last year and was surprised by how much I missed it.
I have heaps of save segments that I use to judge how my fitness is and I really really love exploring all that and comparing my times over the past x years.
Also their route building features have become really good and really valuable if you like getting out into new places.
One of the reasons I also subscribe is that I'd be super upset if Strava ceased to exist. It's far from perfect but it's definitely way ahead of its nearest competitor (who even is that?!).
This is me too. It doesn't do everything I'd like but it definitely still adds value
When I started training for my first marathon I had an apple watch and it didnt sink well with strava so I used the Nike run club app. Hated it...
When I switched to garmin and could sink everything nicely with Strava it was chalk and cheese.
I think if I averaged out how much time I spend on the app and the yearly cost its insanely worth it.
I think a bit like what @Mat said if it didnt exist I would be geniunely upset so supporting it through the paid subscription is my way of helping to keep it around.
I really like the route builder function and for me thats worth it.
Particularly if I need to hit a certain amount of vert etc in my training. The fact i can see all that as I am building a route to hit my targets and then save it makes training so much easier.
The heat maps when youre route building as well are cool too - gives you a good idea of whats a trail and passable and whats not.
